The Jones Dairy Talent show has been a tradition for seven years.  Started by Chuck Sinclair in 2008, it has grown to a major performance event for the school over the past few years.  In 2014, there were 479 students who auditioned for the show.  The Talent Show is actually broken down into 4 different shows at various times.
  • Auditions
Auditions are held during Music Specials starting in December. The talents that are typically demonstrated in the Talent Show are: Singing (alone or with someone else), Playing an instrument (alone or with someone else), Dancing, (alone or with someone else), Acting, (alone or with someone else) Gymnastics, Tai Kwon Do (or other martial arts), Hula Hooping, Jump Roping. Auditions are held during Music Specials starting in December.  Once the auditions are completed (usually by mid-January), the students are divided into the four different shows below.
  • The Main Stage Show
This is an evening show and showcases the best talent demonstrated in auditions.  The show is not limited to a specific grade level and usually runs about an hour to an hour and a half.  There are typically 20 to 25 acts in this show.

  • The K-2 Stage Show
This show is usually held during the school day and lasts about 40 minutes in length.  It is limited to those students in grades K-2 and typically has 10-15 acts in the show. The audience for this show would be JDE students in the K-2 grade level and parents.
  • The 3-5 Stage Show
Like the K-2 Stage Show, this show is specifically for students in grades 3-5.  It is held during the school day and lasts about 40 minutes.and typically has 10- 15 acts in the show.  The audience for this show would be JED students in the 3-5 grade level and parents.
  • The Class Show
Since I believe in performance and since developing a safe and non-judgmental enviornment for performance is critical to student's willingness to perform in the future, those students who did not make any of the stage shows are welcomed to perform in a class show during music specials.  The parents are welcome to attend, The show will last no more than 45 minutes
